SEVENTEEN’s THE 8 has made his return with solo music in a new track that dropped on March 18th titled, “海城 (Hai Cheng).” The Chinese-language single, written by THE 8 along with ALFa, PRISMFILTER, and fellow SEVENTEEN member, WOOZI, is named after his beloved home town, Hai Cheng City, in China’s Liaoning province. Accompanying the track, which is now available on all music streaming platforms, is a stunning visual music video that includes shades and tones of brown and beige, reflective of THE 8’s real-life aesthetic and style. It starts off with THE 8 returning to his home and reminiscing on memories he’s made while being there, including clips of him on the beach with his other half, as it jumps to scenes without her there. This occurs throughout the rest of the video as he walks through the town looking back on moments of happier times of the couple dancing around and enjoying life. “海城 (Hai Cheng)” is a follow up to THE 8’s track, “Side By Side,” which was released in April 2021 in both Chinese and Korean. THE 8 is currently preparing for their upcoming fan meeting concert, “SEVENTEEN in CARATLAND,” the group’s first movie, “SEVENTEEN POWER OF LOVE: THE MOVIE,” which will be globally released in April, as well as a confirmed full-length album release in May!
