ALEX BRUCE and KAIA’s ALEXA are all about girl power in their very first collaboration showcasing their jaw-dropping musical skills through an exclusive live performance, “PAP SPECIAL: ‘DOUBLE A’ Live Performance Medley,” shared on PROD AXIA’s YouTube channel. The epic performance video will leave viewers in awe seeing the incredible talents the Hip-Hop sensation and P-Pop star both hold. The duo kicks off the performance with Doja Cat’s hit song, “Paint the Town Red,” and immediately impresses with their unique vocal tones, quick rap styles, and undeniable swag through their choreography. They follow it up with ALEX’s track, “Fake Friends,” re-written by ALEXA, and closing it off with “Blah Blah,” a song by KAIA and re-written by ALEX. In regards to the song selection, ALEX BRUCE shares, “The song choices were pretty straightforward. We wanted to highlight our strengths. We couldn’t do a collab without singing one of our songs, right? So, we picked Doja Cat’s ‘Paint the Town Red’ because it’s a catchy TikTok favorite that everyone can vibe with.” ALEXA adds, “We decided to cover each other’s songs, ‘Fake Friends’ by ALEX and ‘Blah Blah’ from KAIA. It’s all about putting our unique spin on these tracks.”
The extraordinary collab was filmed in PROD AXIA’s location partners, The Beer Factory and Estate Coffeehouse in Makati, Philippines, and was led by the producers of PROD AXIA, Reine Tan and Jvee Alcayaga, who are big supporters of the P-Pop Rise movement and most recently released fun projects featuring P-Pop groups, YARA and VER5US for their latest singles, “Bakit Papa?” and “Alon,” respectively. The talented ladies shared that they had a great time during the shoot, highlighting their appreciation for the team’s support all throughout, with ALEXA stating, “They cheered for us during every shot and it gave us the boost of energy we needed. Direk Jvee was hands-on and a perfectionist, and the team was determined to make it an amazing shoot.”
Seeing ALEX and ALEXA in “DOUBLE A” brings a sense of joy as the two truly show a feeling of empowerment through the collaboration. “Being a female hip-hop rapper, working with other talented women in the industry could make you feel empowered and proud to be a part of the growing representation of women in hip-hop.
