A new girl group has officially arrived and have already started to turn heads with their debut single, “Might Just,” which dropped on June 20th. Kicking off their career through global audition process, “Global Vocal Battle Auditions” to debut under Japanese entertainment company, LDH JAPAN, members ASAMI from Japan, AGNES who is Dutch and West African, and LARISSA from the Netherlands, have finally joined forces to debut as SWEET REVENGE. After four years of training, SWEET REVENGE is making their official debut into the J-Pop world with “Might Just,” showcasing their unique style and powerful energy.
“Might Just” is exceptionally pleasing to the ears as the members impress with distinct, powerful vocals and is backed by a dreamy, nostalgic sound, produced by GRAMMY award-winning producer, The Stereotypes. The fun music video, directed by Los Angeles-based director, Amber Park, transforms ASAMI, AGNES, and LARISSA into animated digital avatars, designed by Shinsei Galverse illustrator, Ayaka Ohira, and created by creative studio Active Theory. According to the official press release, SWEET REVENGE wore motion-capture suits to record and track the choreography to create the group’s animated counterparts.
SWEET REVENGE’s single is confirmed to be the opening theme song in the upcoming anime series, “The Girl Downstairs,” originally a popular Korean webtoon that was adapted into a Chinese anime series. “The Girl Downstairs” is set to air on Japanese TV beginning July 3rd.
