FELIP is making a bold statement with his first-ever solo album titled, 7sins, which was released on July 5th. The entirety of the album, which (coincidentally) took seven months to create, revolves around the theme of the seven sins which are featured as titles, “envy,” “wrath,” “greed,” “pride,” “gluttony,” a track that features PLAYERTWO, “lust,” a collaboration with female soloist, Cyra Gwynth, and “sloth.” 7sins is bookended by tracks, “foes” and “ache” – “foes” kicks off the album with a strong, dark sound going against the haters and bashers, sending out a reminder to them of his confidence and self-assurance not only as an artist, but who he is as a person. “ache” closes out the album and sheds the heavy layer to unveil an honest, vulnerable revelation of hopeful truth and acceptance that after so much struggle, better days are to come.
The multi-hyphenate credits this album to those he collaborated with. Aside from his TEAM FELIP who continues to support his visions and goals behind the scenes, FELIP also worked with Luke April of PLAYERTWO who is featured on the track, “gluttony.” It can be remembered that FELIP and PLAYERTWO, both Warner Music Philippines artists, had previously linked up to create the tracks “FLYYY” and “Pagdali.” Belgian-Filipina soloist Cyra Gwynth also lent a hand in co-writing and featuring on “greed,” an emotional track about giving your love to the wrong person.
Even with his previous releases, FELIP has really cemented his artistry as ground-breaking, experimental, and limitless. 7sins is just another piece of proof that FELIP truly bares his all in creating his own masterpieces from writing, producing, developing concepts and visual stylings, to being the face of the art itself. While it’s known that he is fairly introverted and finds challenge in expressing himself through words on the spot, FELIP has become a total pro in storytelling through his music by delicately focusing on all of the details and connecting the dots for his audiences to see a clear vision of what his heart truly wants to share. Since the release of 7sins, it has already made its way to the No. 8 spot of Spotify’s Top Albums Debut Global chart.
In the midst of a busy schedule with his group, SB19, FELIP is also preparing for “7sins The Album Concert,” his first solo concert on July 27th at the Space at OneAyala that will feature live performances of all nine tracks from the album.
