Congratulations is in order for JO1!

The Japanese boy group has earned the title of highest-debuting and highest-charting song from a male Japanese idol group for the English version of their track, “BE CLASSIC,” which has reached the 34th spot on Mediabase Top 40 Radio Airplay chart. This is based on a comprehensive database that provides in-depth analysis and charts within the music industry.

Back in March, JO1 celebrated their fifth year anniversary by releasing a “Best Of” album, which includes the original version of “BE CLASSIC,” a track that samples Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. The music video monumentally garnered attention and amassed over 27 million views since its release.

Since emerging onto the music scene in 2020 from PRODUCE 101 JAPAN, Sho, Ren, Ruki, Junki, Keigo, Takumi, Syoya, Shosei, Sky, Shion, and Issei have impressively accumulated fans from all over the globe, and achieved incredible milestones in their career such as having eight No. 1 songs, two No. 1 albums, and awards from the MTV Video Music Awards Japan, MAMA Awards, Japan Gold Disc Awards, and the MAMA Awards. JO1 also became the first Japanese group to perform for GLOBAL SPIN LIVE at The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. The group also made history recently by representing the Japanese culture by performing as the headline act during Dodger’s Heritage Night, where they contributed $50,000 from their campaign, “WHEREVER WE ARE,” which raised funds alongside their fans who made contributions to communities in need.

Major things have already happened for JO1 and the exciting thing is, they’re just getting started!
