PBB Gen 11 housemates and breakout stars, JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith, are making their highly-anticipated official debut as a love team for the upcoming iWantTFC rom-com original series, “Ghosting.” The project reveal took place on May 20th in front of the press as well as a viewing via livestream on ABS-CBN’s social media platforms. In attendance were the project’s Creative Manager, Mel Mendoza Del Rosario, and Director Ted Boborol, as well as the cast, Gello Marquez, Vivoree, Kobie Brown, JM Ibarra, and Fyang Smith.

During the reveal, the cast and crew shared a little insight into their characters, the time frames they come from, and the puzzling, yet exciting storyline! JM is set to play the character of Wilberto, a ghost from the 1940’s, Fyang will be playing the role of Jaja, an influencer based in the current time, while Kobie Brown will be channeling the character of Vhal, Jaja’s boyfriend, who ends up ‘ghosting’ her. Meanwhile, Vivoree plays Emma, Jaja’s best friend and lover of the spiritual world, while Gello takes on the role of Tony, a fun, party ghost from the 70’s and best friend to Wilberto.

When asked about their initial reactions to the project, JM shared, “When they told us about the project, we were so excited because our dream was to have an opportunity like this, and now that we’ve been given it, it’s all just exciting. We’re both ready to take this on and helping each other out to prepare for this.” Fyang states that despite the excitement, there is also pressure, “When we found out that we were having a series and we would be playing the leads, we were excited but nervous, of course. Our characters aren’t too far from who we are in real life, but there’s still pressure because a lot of people have high expectations from us. We can assure them that we’ll give our best for this project!”

Director Ted Boborol shared his appreciation for his leads, JM and Fyang, stating that he had already seen potential in their love team and as individuals since watching them during their time on reality show, Pinoy Big Brother. Mel Mendoza Del Rosario, the project’s creative Manager, also made a bold, yet impressive statement saying she expects JM and Fyang to be the next big thing hailing from ABS-CBN.
