BGYO marks a confident new era with the release of their latest single, “Fresh,” which dropped on February 19 via ABS-CBN Music. The track serves as the group’s first Tagalog single since 2024’s “Andito Lang” and arrives as they celebrate their fifth anniversary, having debuted on January 29, 2021.
Described as an empowerment anthem, “Fresh” highlights a bold, unapologetic side of Gelo, Mikki, JL, Nate, and Akira. Built on a smooth, groove-driven hip-hop beat, the song leans into themes of confidence, individuality, and authenticity. With striking lines like “I got what you want” and “Ain’t nobody fresher than me,” the track showcases the members’ swagger while reinforcing a message of self-belief. Written by member Mikki Claver, the single reflects the group’s evolving artistry and more personal creative voice.
“Fresh” follows the more emotional soundscape of their previous body of work, Headlines, signaling a refreshed sonic direction that embraces self-assurance without compromise. The release also comes on the heels of a milestone year for BGYO, including major performances, a successful solo concert, and chart-topping recognitions in the Philippines and abroad.
With over 100 million combined audio and video streams, multiple No. 1 iTunes debuts across several territories, and recognition from international platforms and award-giving bodies, BGYO continues to strengthen their presence in the global pop scene. As they celebrate five years together, “Fresh” stands as both a statement of growth and a reaffirmation that for BGYO, nothing is more powerful than staying true to themselves.
It was most recently announced that BGYO will be representing the Philippines at the upcoming D.U.N.K. Showcase to be held at the K-Arena Yokohama in Japan from March 13-March 15, alongside fellow Filipino acts – Cup of Joe and SB19.
