DreamWorks Animation is inviting audiences into a vibrant new world with the debut trailer for Forgotten Island, and it’s already generating buzz for its emotional story and standout voice cast.

The upcoming animated feature stars H.E.R. and Liza Soberano as two best friends who are mysteriously transported to a magical island inspired by Filipino mythology. As teased in the trailer, their journey quickly takes a heartbreaking turn where the only way home may require them to forget each other entirely.

The film blends fantasy, adventure, and coming-of-age themes, with the trailer highlighting both the island’s whimsical creatures and the deeper emotional stakes tied to memory and friendship. Alongside H.E.R. and Soberano, the voice cast includes Manny Jacinto, Jo Koy, Dolly de Leon and Lea Salonga, adding even more Filipino star power to the DreamWorks project.

Directed by Puss in Boots: The Last Wish filmmaker Joel Crawford alongside Januel Mercado, Forgotten Island marks a culturally rich and visually ambitious entry for the studio. With its mix of heartfelt storytelling and Filipino folklore, the film is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated animated releases ahead of its September 25, 2026 theatrical debut.
