South Korean reality show, “Universe Ticket,” has found a mega-talented artist in the form of Elisia Parmisano! Hailing from the Philippines, 14-year old Elisia has officially secured a spot to debut in a new global girl group by F&F Entertainment with potential members from all over the world including: South Korea, Japan, China, Philippines, Malaysia, Mongolia, Canada, Italy, Australia, Myanmar, Indonesia, and Vietnam. As of the January 10th episode, Elisia advanced to the “P-Level,” the highest ranking in the talent competition, which catapulted her into becoming the first official member of the group, taking the first slot out of eight. Contributing to her advancement was her impressive fan vote ranking which accumulated a stunning total of 553,483.4 points! While viewers wait for the upcoming episodes, fellow Filipino contestants Gehlee Dangca and Filipino-Korean Jin Hyeon-ju are still awaiting their fate of whether or not they’ll be included in any of remaining seven spots.
Coaching the finalists throughout their journey on “Universe Ticket” are K-Pop legends, Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon, singer-actress Kim Se-jeong, Lachica’s Rian, K-pop solo artists Adora and Younha, and celebrity mentors such as ITZY’s Yeji and Chaeryeong.
With the popularity of K-Pop, the genre has really expanded into a global market pulling in international talents debuting under South Korean companies and training systems. A few notable Filipino artists that have created successful careers in the industry are Filipina-Argentinian actress, Chantal “Chanty” Videla of Lapillus, the first all-Filipino boy group to debut in South Korea – HORI7ON, and most recently, Sophia Laforteza, who earned a spot in KATSEYE, the newest girl group set to debut under HYBE and Geffen Records. The finale of “Universe Ticket” will air on January 17th and will determine the complete and final lineup of members that will be debuting.
