Filipina singer Gehlee Dangca is ready to show fans another side of her artistry as she prepares to release a new solo single, marking another exciting milestone in a career that has already taken her from the Philippines to the international K-pop scene.
Gehlee first captured widespread attention through Universe Ticket, the South Korean survival program that brought together aspiring performers from around the world. Her strong fan support helped her secure fourth place in the competition, earning her a spot in the eight-member girl group UNIS.
The group officially debuted in March 2024 with their first mini-album, We UNIS, introducing Gehlee to a global audience. During her time in South Korea, she gained experience performing on international stages and connecting with fans across different countries, helping establish her as one of the Filipina artists making their mark in the K-pop industry.
Her journey has also been far from ordinary. Before pursuing music internationally, Gehlee explored modeling and pageantry, building confidence and stage presence that would later become part of her identity as a performer.
Following the conclusion of UNIS’s group activities in September 2026, Gehlee returned to the Philippines to pursue her solo career while continuing her education. She remains signed with Universal Records Philippines, and has GLXY Talent Management and Star Horizon TV Production supporting her career locally.
Now, with new single, “Closer,” set to drop on October 23, Gehlee has the opportunity to introduce listeners to her individual musical identity beyond the group that first brought her international recognition. Her next chapter also represents a homecoming, allowing her to reconnect with Filipino fans while continuing to explore opportunities on the global stage.
After years of training, performing, and growing in the highly competitive K-pop industry, Gehlee’s solo journey is one to watch. As she steps into this new phase, fans can look forward to discovering what she wants to express as an artist in her own right.
