The star power was in full force at Billboard Philippines’ first-ever Women In Music event held in Manila, Philippines this past March 22nd honoring some of the top-tier female acts in the music industry today. The awards night was attended by: Sarah Geronimo who was accompanied by her husband, Matteo Guidicelli, Regine Velasquez alongside her husband, Ogie Alcasid and her son Nate, Moira Dela Torre, Morisette, BINI, Belle Mariano, Ena Mori, Jackie Lou Blanco, Denise Julia, and SB19’s STELL, among others.
Taking home the Rule Breaker Award was half-Japanese, half-Filipino singer/songwriter, Ena Mori, while vocal powerhouse, Morisette, was honored with the People’s Choice Award. As one of the most popular public figures hailing from the Philippines currently, Belle Mariano won the Listener’s Choice Award for her song, “Bagumbilya,” and as the most streamed female artist from the Philippines, Moira Dela Torre was rightfully given the Hitmaker Award. P-Pop girl group, BINI, who was most recently named No. 1 most streamed P-Pop group, was honored with the Rising Star Award, following an epic performance of their latest track, “Salamin, Salamin,” off of their first-ever EP, “TALAARAWAN.” On behalf of her mother, Jackie Lou Blanco accepted the Icon Award for the legendary singer, Asia’s Queen of Songs, Pilita Corales. Another musical legend who has really cemented Filipino talent on a global stage is Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, who was given the Powerhouse Award. Following her attendance at the Billboard US Women in Music event in Los Angeles earlier this month where she was honored with the Global Force Award, Sarah Geronimo continues her streak by accepting the Woman of the Year Award at the Billboard PH Women in Music event, further proving her title of Popstar Royalty.
Congratulations to all of the winners and cheers to a bright future of beautiful music and empowering women behind these hits!
