Global boy group JO1 is kicking off a major new era with the release of their upbeat pre-release single “WHATCHA DOIN,” now available on all streaming platforms. The track serves as the first taste of the group’s highly anticipated debut full length English language EP, ANIMAL, arriving October 2.
Packed with infectious rhythms and an irresistible groove, “WHATCHA DOIN” is designed to get listeners on their feet. Built around its catchy, repeating hook, the energetic anthem reflects JO1’s growing confidence as they continue expanding onto the international stage. Produced by Grammy winning hitmaker Dem Jointz, ANIMAL features six all English tracks and marks a significant milestone for the nine member group. The producer described the EP as “an 18 minute roller coaster, full of adventure, energy, celebration, growth, and human connection,” hinting at an ambitious and emotionally charged project.
The EP’s release coincides with the opening night of the 2026 JO1 NORTH AMERICAN TOUR “ANIMAL,” which launches in Toronto before making stops in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles throughout October. Additional singles, music videos, and exclusive content are expected to roll out in the coming weeks as JO1 continues introducing its evolving sound to U.S. audiences.
