Asians Represented On The 2021 Met Gala Red Carpet

The Asian representation was definitely felt on the red carpet of last night’s iconic 2021 Met Gala event held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The Gala hosted over 150 celebrities from the Entertainment and Fashion industries with the attendees showing up and showing off some impeccable looks following this year’s theme of “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” Many talents that were in attendance are of Asian descent, proudly representing their roots on such a global stage. Singers Olivia Rodrigo and Hailee Steinfeld of Filipino background made sure to take photos together, with Saweetie looking flawless as she flaunted her Filipino/African-American heritage on her dress with her train including 10 million hand-placed crystals with the colors of the Black-American Heritage Flag and the Philippine Flag. Also in attendance was 2NE1’s CL, dressed in Alexander Wang, and BLACKPINK’s Rosé, donning Saint Laurent, both of whom are the first female K-Pop idols to grace the historic event’s red carpet. Marvel’s newest superhero, Simu Liu, Entertainer, Eugene Lee Yang, Actresses Gemma Chan and Mindy Kaling, and athletes, Leylah Annie Fernandez, Sunisa Lee and Naomi Osaka were all in attendance as well.
