BTS is undoubtedly the biggest musical act in the music industry right now. With such a title, the members opened up during their annual FESTA event, that the pressures and expectations that have come with this name is something that has exhausted the group over the years. RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook talked about their experiences as BTS over the 9 years since they’ve debuted, and confirmed that they are all living separately now as well, further strengthening their friendship and teamwork. The members went into detail of a new chapter in not only their careers, but their personal lives, as they announced that the group would be embarking on a hiatus that will include limiting group activities, as the members are set to work on solo projects, with j-hope being the first member to be releasing a solo album. Some of the BTS members were brought to tears as they thanked their beloved ARMY for being by their side for all these years, and they wished for their fans to continue to show their love and support as they begin this new chapter in their lives. While they also apologized for making such decisions, they also acknowledged how their fans will love them no matter what, and that the ARMY would fully understand and accept whatever path the members decide to take. Their label, BIGHIT Music, released a statement after the hour-long FESTA dinner was posted, stating: “BTS will start a new chapter in which they will simultaneously carry out team activities and individual activities. This will be a time for each of the members to grow with their diverse activities, and we anticipate that this will foster BTS into a long-running team. The label will actively support this.”

BTS most recently made their highly-anticipated comeback with their anthology album, “PROOF,” and will be appearing on music shows starting this week promoting the project. They will also continue to film episodes of their hit variety program, “RUN! BTS.” Although the news is bittersweet, we all look forward to the exciting content BTS and the individual members will be releasing in the future.
