“Idol Philippines” Season 2 has found their new winner in Khimo Gumatay! Up against Ryssi Avila and Kice in the finale, Khimo beat out thousands of hopefuls wanting to win the grand prize of a franchise from Dermacare worth P3 million, a recording contract from ABS-CBN Music, P1 million cash, and a house and lot worth P2.5 million from Camella Homes. The 22-year-old remained consistent throughout his journey on “Idol Philippines,” impressing the judges, Gary Valenciano, Regine Velasquez, Chito Mirando, and Moira Dela Torre every week. In an emotional post to his Instagram page, Khimo shared his thoughts on winning the popular singing competition, stating:
“To all of the people who believed in me throughout my journey on ‘Idol Philippines,’ I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
