The anticipation for SB19’s return with their second EP, “PAGTATAG!” is at an all time high, and to add onto this excitement, the group has released a sneak peek into the album through a visual sampler. The more than 1-minute video clip announced the six tracks that will be featured in “PAGTATAG!” including: “GENTO,” “I WANT YOU,” “CRIMZONE,” “ILAW,” “LIHAM,” and “FREEDOM.” Just from the snippet itself, we can see the diversity between the songs and SB19’s effortless flexibility as artists to be able to perform and deliver different genres of music for their fans.
“GENTO,” which has already been released along with its music video, showcases a more powerful sound with jaw-dropping rap verses by Pablo, Josh, and Ken, weaved throughout the track. From the sampler, “I WANT YOU” seems to have more of an R&B vibe, especially with Ken’s deep vocals on top of the dreamy instrumental. “CRIMZONE” is dripping with hard beats that will make you want to rock out, while tracks “ILAW” and “LIHAM” have more of an acoustic and ballad-type feel, as members Stell and Justin beautifully take the lead on vocals. The last track on “PAGTATAG!” is “FREEDOM,” which brings such a nostalgic sound, reminiscent of some of the group’s previous releases.
SB19 is undoubtedly on an upward trend with their career and this includes their latest achievement of debuting at No. 8 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart for their track, “GENTO,” which is currently taking over the social media platform, TikTok, where the choreography has become a dance challenge for A’TIN and first-time listeners of SB19 worldwide. It can be recalled that SB19 has already been nominated for a Billboard Music Award, and at this rate, we won’t be surprised if this opportunity comes up again in the near future.
Dubbed as the “P-Pop Kings,” SB19 are set to go on their world tour this summer, which will take them throughout the Philippines, U.S. and Canada.
