
From taking over the social media world and gaining millions of followers across all platforms, to being an in-demand host and interviewing major acts such as ENHYPEN, ATEEZ, KANG DANIEL, and BamBam, Emily Mei returns to her musical background with the release of her latest single, “MANIA (Where Them Girls At).” Following the success of her collaboration track with f(x)’s Amber Liu and CLC’s SORN on “My Domain,” Emily’s latest release is her second single that she was able to fully be involved in from the writing process to the creation of its music video.
“MANIA (Where Them Girls At)” is introduced with an oriental instrumental that carries itself throughout the track while it supports Emily’s clear vocals and raps and perfectly brings the boss girl energy the meaning of the song provides. From the official press release, the track is “a brilliant nod to her cultural roots” and “showcases a unique, west-meets-east sound with the inclusion of Chinese instrumentation like the guzheng and erhu, adding a layer of complexity to the entire song.”
The visual accompaniment to the track showcases Emily’s acting skills as she portrays various personas while serving stunning makeup, hair, and outfit looks all throughout the music video. The “MANIA (Where Them Girls At)” music video was filmed in a whopping two days which further proves Emily’s talent as an all-around artist and director/producer as well.
