Held at the famed Philippine Arena on December 14th, some of Asia’s brightest stars gathered to celebrate and honor excellent talent in television, film, and music at the Asia Artist Awards 2023. The esteemed award show presented by PULP Live World and Star News Korea was hosted by IVE’s Wonyoung, ZEROBASEONE’s Sung Han Bin, and Kang Daniel, and featured appearances and performances from top K-Pop acts such as: BOYNEXTDOOR, Stray Kids, ITZY, LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans, BooSeokSoon of SEVENTEEN, and so much more. The event also highlighted some of the world’s favorite South Korean actors: Kim Sejong, Ahn Hyoseop, Kim Seon Ho, Moon Gayoung, and Lee Junho, amongst others.

Stealing the show was arguably the Filipino talents in attendance! P-Pop mega-group, SB19, opened up the award show with their global hit track, “GENTO,” in which K-Pop stars were seen standing up and dancing along to the song that went viral for its dance challenge on social media. The group also performed various songs from their discography and ended their stage by bringing up K-Pop group, &TEAM to dance with them. SB19 ended up taking home 2 awards that evening: Hot Trend and Best Artist (Singer).

Fellow boy group, HORI7ON, also attended the prestigious award show and performed their song, “SIX7EEN,” impressing fans and viewers alike. The group created by MLD Entertainment and ABS-CBN through reality competition series, “DREAM MAKER,” took home the “AAA Focus” award.

Nine-piece act, Ben&Ben, were also in attendance at AAA 2023 where they were given the “Best Choice” Award. It can also be noted that Ben&Ben were most recently crowned Spotify’s #1 most streamed OPM artist in the Philippines this year.

Host, Actress, and Comedian, Melai Cantiveros-Francisco energized the crowd with her hilarious speech after winning the “Best Actor” award as well as her impromptu interview with IVE’s Wonyoung where she has the audience in giggles after admitting that she was excited to see and meet South Korean actor, Kim Seon Ho.

Garnering the loudest cheers and audience reactions were for Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, who have been dubbed as some of the Philippine’s top actors and talents. The duo most recently made worldwide headlines after announcing the end of their 11-year relationship, making their appearance at the AAA’s one of the first since their public split. Kathryn and Daniel went up to the stage together to accept the “Fabulous Award,” making them the only Filipinos to win in that category, alongside fellow winners Lim Young Woong, NewJeans, and Stray Kids, all from South Korea.
