Josh Cullen has been releasing hit after hit this year from “Get Right” to “Yoko Na” featuring Al James, and now his latest single under Sony Music, “SUMAYA,” which is his most vulnerable yet. The track, written and produced by Josh, provides an R&B, trap, pop, and bedroom hip-hop sound and showcases the emotional tone the SB19 member brings to the song which sings about the painful reality of a heartbreak and the process of acceptance and moving forward.
The music video, produced by Black Star Entertainment and Toothless Studios Production and directed by Josh, is a beautiful visual of being surrounded by disintegrating items that hold memories of his past relationship. The singer/rapper impresses with his acting skills as well, taking the viewers into his mindset and raw emotions as he visibly breaks down from remembering happier times.
Aside from his schedules with SB19, Josh has been extra busy with his solo projects – from releasing singles, to guesting on shows like Running Man Philippines and MYX Hits Different, Josh also announced an exciting show to take place in Singapore on June 16th, where Al James and P-Pop girl group, KAIA, is set to join him.
