Squid Game creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, and the show’s star, Lee Jung-jae, stopped to talk to Deadline at the Golden Globes red carpet this weekend to talk about what fans can expect for the 3rd season of the cultural phenomenon. Lee Jung-jae shares, “In Season 3, slightly different than Season 1 and 2, there’s going to be more twists and turns and more conflict between the characters — something a little bit different, more complex.” Hwang Dong-hyuk added onto that stating, “It’s going to be chaotic and you are not going to know where we’re taking you. It’s the craziest one. It’s a crazy, crazy, crazy season. It’s the best season finale.” The creator also confirmed that the post-production for the series is “almost done.”

The Squid Game series is undoubtedly the most successful Netflix show, with the second season garnering 68 million viewers in its first three days and broke Netflix’s record for most views for a series in its premiere week. Squid Game was also listed No. 1 on the weekly non-English TV list in 92 countries. The second season took viewers back into the grim world of Player 456, Gi-hun, who dives back into the survival game with a mission, as he meets a whole new batch of participants. Along with Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo all returned for the latest season, with the addition of an all-star cast: Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an.

The third season of Squid Game will be the final season of the series. Stay tuned for more info and updates on Squid Game!
