The official trailer for Pretty Lethal has dropped, teasing a blood-pounding blend of ballet artistry and survival action ahead of the film’s March 25 streaming debut on Amazon Prime Video and its SXSW premiere on March 13, 2026.
From director Vicky Jewson, Pretty Lethal thrusts five ballerinas into a deadly fight for survival after their tour bus breaks down in a remote forest. Seeking refuge, the dancers find themselves trapped inside an eerie roadside inn run by a sinister former ballet star (Uma Thurman), where they must weaponize their discipline, grace, and years of training just to stay alive.
Among this fierce ensemble, Lana Condor stands out once again as a leading Asian-American talent, bringing depth and grit to a role that veers far from her earlier romantic-comedy roots. As part of the ballerina squad, Condor’s presence underscores a rising trend of diverse casting in genre films that amplify physicality and character complexity. Equally compelling is Avantika, who joins the fight as Grace, a character described in early coverage as empathetic yet unwavering; a balance of kindness and courage that anchors much of the troupe’s emotional resilience. Her casting highlights the growing visibility of multifaceted performers of Asian descent in big-budget, action-driven projects. Millicent Simmonds, Iris Apatow, and Maggie Ziegler also star in the thriller.
With its “ballet” style combat and high-stakes thrills, Pretty Lethal positions itself as a standout addition to 2026’s streamer content — and judging by the trailer, these ballerinas are anything but graceful damsels in distress.
