A new chapter in Filipino animation is on the horizon with Sun Chaser, an upcoming animated adventure series from creators Bobby Pontillas and Bernard Badion. Blending Philippine mythology, family centered storytelling, and fantasy filled action, the project is already generating international buzz ahead of its official release. The highly anticipated first episode is set to premiere on June 22.

The story follows Jordan Santos, a teenager whose summer visit to his grandmother’s island takes an unexpected turn when a supernatural threat places his family and home in danger. As Jordan embarks on a journey through a world inspired by Filipino folklore, he discovers his destiny while encountering mythical creatures and unforgettable allies along the way.

Sun Chaser was developed in collaboration with Philippine animation studios Toon City Animation and Playlab Animation. The series draws heavily from Filipino culture and legends, offering audiences a fresh fantasy adventure rooted in local traditions and storytelling. Adding to the excitement is an impressive, star-studded voice cast that includes Manny Jacinto, Liza Soberano, Eugene Cordero, JR De Guzman, Dingdong Dantes, Charo Santos, AC Bonifacio, KD Estrada, and Zia Dantes.

Before its premiere, Sun Chaser has already earned recognition on the global stage, winning the prestigious Animation du Monde Prize at Annecy’s MIFA market and helping spotlight the growing talent within the Philippine animation industry. As anticipation continues to build, the series is shaping up to be a landmark project that celebrates Filipino creativity while introducing local mythology to audiences around the world.
