It’s Olivia Rodrigo’s world and we’re just living in it! The 18-year old actress and critically acclaimed singer/songwriter has officially released her highly anticipated debut album, “SOUR,” and it’s all everyone is talking about. The album is a diary of heartbreak, intense emotions, hopeful wishes and basically describes the core feelings of one’s teen years. “SOUR” was entirely co-written by Olivia who shares that one of her greatest joys in life comes from deliberately tapping into her deepest heartache. “There’s nothing like sitting at the piano in my bedroom and writing a really sad song. It’s truly my favorite thing in the world; it’s so inspiring to see my music affect people and maybe help them to feel less alone too.” The album features 11 songs in total including “deja vu,” newest release “good 4 u,” and of course her record-breaking, triple-platinum debut single, “drivers license.” One song in particular is probably even more meaningful to the artist as it’s been revealed that Olivia’s ultimate music idol, Taylor Swift, was given a writing credit on “1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back.” It hasn’t been confirmed whether or not Swift was a part of the writing process for this track but reports say the song is a nod to Taylor’s lucky number 13 and was inspired by “New Year’s Day” from Swift’s 2017 album, “Reputation.” Check out some of the new videos uploaded to Olivia’s YouTube channel below and make sure to stream “SOUR,” now available on all music platforms!
