Filipina-American actress, Ivory Aquino, has officially been announced to be joining the cast of the upcoming DC film, Batgirl, as Alysia Yeoh, the first transgender character to appear in a DC movie. Alysia Yeoh is the best friend of Batgirl herself, who is set to be played by In The Heights actress, Leslie Grace. Batgirl is expected to be the breakout role for Ivory, who was born and raised in the Philippines prior to moving to the United States in her teens to complete her studies at the Berklee College of Music, where she earned the title of summa cum laude! Starring alongside Ivory in the film, slated for a late 2022 or 2023 release, are major Hollywood stars, J.K. Simmons, Brendan Fraser, and Michael Keaton. Congratulations, Ivory!
