Singer/songwriter, NIKI, is giving us a sneak peek into her upcoming sophomore album, Nicole, with the release of her latest single, “Before.” The sentimental track revolves around the story of realizing the end of a relationship and navigating through that, and learning to let it go. These emotions are perfectly portrayed in the cinematic music video, which stars Peter Adrian Sudarso and NIKI herself. In a press release, NIKI shared her statement regarding “Before,” as the “irresolute ending to my very first love story. I wrote it as a means to create the kind of closure I never had. I also feel it’s ironically poetic to open this new chapter by telling you how it ends first. I’m so proud of it, and I can’t think of a better song to introduce the ultimate break-up record I’ve always fantasized of putting out but somehow haven’t…until now.”

Nicole is set to drop in August and will be divided into two parts – part 1 will consist of re-recorded and reimagined versions of new and archived tracks, while part 2 will feature original songs that were posted to her old YouTube channel.
