After years of back and forth, BIGHIT MUSIC has finally confirmed that the members of BTS will be fulfilling their military enlistment beginning with the group’s eldest member, Jin. The company officially shared the news via social media that “Group member Jin will initiate the process as soon as his schedule for his solo release is concluded at the end of October. He will then follow the enlistment procedure of the Korean government. Other members of the group plan to carry out their military service based on their own individual plans.” With this schedule of events, BTS will regroup as seven in 2025 following their service commitment.
There’s no denying that BTS has truly reached global superstardom and have achieved countless opportunities that catapulted the group and genre of K-Pop into the mainstream market. After conducting multiple sold-out shows in 2021, releasing their first anthology album earlier this year, succeeding in solo endeavors (beginning with J-Hope’s latest release – “Jack In The Box”), as well as mega-hit collaborations (SUGA with PSY on “That That” and Jungkook with Charlie Puth for “Left and Right”) – Jin will be the next member to showcase his solo project and the BTS ARMY are no doubt feeling this bittersweet news.
