EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW With VAYONN On Official Debut, Release Of EP, “Watta Day” Music Video And More!

As one of K-pop’s most promising rookie acts, VAYONN is already making a strong first impression with its bright, youthful energy and international lineup. The six-member group, produced under iNKODE Entertainment, officially debuted this summer with its first EP, Youth Today, following the pre-release single “Watta Day.” Led by the infectious title track “MUAH!,” the project captures the excitement, optimism, and emotion of youth while showcasing the group’s fresh sound and polished performances. Fresh off their debut, VAYONN is introducing themselves to fans around the world, and in the Q&A below, the members share more about their journey, their music, and what’s next.

TERU: Ayang and Jinyu introduced me to Chinese food, culture, and language. Mano helped me with my vocals, and Sen and Masato taught me about Korean etiquette and customs.

MANO: I think I’ve become a lot more comfortable with different languages. Since we’ve all lived in different countries, we naturally got exposed to each other’s cultures, and I think that’s one of the things that makes us unique.

SEN: Honestly, while we were preparing for our debut, I was really nervous and had so many worries. But the moment I finally met our fans, all of those fears just disappeared. All I could think about was enjoying that moment to the fullest. I was even surprised by how emotional I got—I couldn’t stop crying, but they were tears of happiness. From that day on, I knew I wanted to make our fans happy by showing them my brightest smile and my best side.

AYANG: While we were preparing, I was both nervous and excited because it was my first time meeting our fans up close like that. When I finally got to meet them all, it was even more amazing and emotional than I had imagined. Seeing their smiles and hearing them cheer made me even more determined to become a better artist.

MASATO: I was so happy to finally see our fans in person again after such a long time. I really enjoyed preparing for it, and being able to perform and talk with everyone made it such a special and meaningful experience.

JINYU: I hope this song inspires people not to be afraid of life’s challenges and gives them the courage and strength to keep moving forward.

TERU: I hope people feel refreshed and energized after listening to this song.

MANO: One of my favorite moments was when we all gathered in a circle and danced together. I was so happy at that moment, and it’s the memory that stands out to me the most.

SEN: The beach dance scene is the most memorable to me. The sky was incredibly beautiful, and in that moment, I felt so grateful and happy to be able to share such a breathtaking view with the other five members. It’s a memory I’ll always cherish.

MASATO: I was probably the most nervous during the water scene, but it ended up being one of the most fun parts of the shoot. It’s definitely a memory that will stay with me for a long time.

TERU: “Our Youth”

AYANG: I would also choose “Youth.” This album captures who we truly are at this moment. It reflects our dreams and passion as we work toward our debut, as well as the journey of our growth. I hope that through this album, many people can feel the strength and spirit of youth.

JINYU: I’d love to take the members to my hometown someday. They’ve become like family to me, so I really want to share that special place with them.

TERU: I’d love to visit the stadium in Osaka. I want to stand in front of it and tell myself, “One day, we’ll definitely perform here.”

MASATO: I’d love to visit Brazil. Since it’s on the opposite side of the world from Korea, it’s always been a place I’ve wanted to experience at least once.

AYANG: I’d love to win the Rookie of the Year award, and I also hope we can hold our own VAYONN concert someday. Most of all, I want to keep growing with every performance and show everyone an even better side of us.

SEN: I’d love for all six of us to make matching accessories together.

JINYU: When people think of VAYONN, I hope they remember us as a team that brings warmth and positive energy. And to our fans who have always supported us, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. We know that staying by our side, believing in us, and waiting for us for so long hasn’t been easy, and we never take that for granted. We’re truly grateful for your love and support. From now on, I hope we can create many more beautiful and unforgettable memories together.

MASATO: I want to become an artist who can always make the people who have supported us so far—and everyone who will support us in the future—smile. Thank you, always, for your love and support.
