“Squid Game” Creator/Director Confirms Season 2 Of The Hit Series

If you’re one of the millions of people who watched the globally popular Netflix series, “Squid Game,” then you are probably expecting a Season 2! On November 8 in Los Angeles for a promotional event, Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator and director of the hit series confirmed in an interview with the Associated Press that there will be a second series of “Squid Game” and stated, “There’s been a lot of demand and pressure and love for a second season, it almost feels like we don’t have a choice. The next season is in my head right now. At this moment, I’m in the planning stages. It’s too early to say when and how it will come out though. But I can promise this. The main character, Gi Hun, will be back and do something for the world.” The cast and creative team is currently in Los Angeles attending and participating in major Hollywood events, including an appearance at the LACMA Art + Film Gala, which has become an unofficial campaign stop ahead of award season. Netflix is making an award season push for the mega-hit series and will be eligible for the Emmy’s next year and is expected to be a contender at the Producers Guild Awards, Critics Choice Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards. “Squid Game” is Netflix’s biggest original series release ever and has reportedly projected $900 million in revenue for the network, with 111 million Netflix subscribers around the world that has watched the show.
